Interview with CocoeBiz. C=CocoeBiz, K=Kenji Ito

(Japanese)

C: So tell us how you feel about having just finished your first solo live performance.

K: I feel very relieved. I was nervous up until about 5 minutes before my performance, but once I got onto the stage, everything felt okay.

C: Were you using sheet music while you played?

K: No, today I was flying blind.

C: So, all the music was in your head?

K: That's right. It seems my fingers remembered how to do everything (laughs).

C: I've heard that you're interested in doing an original album. How is that coming?

K: Producing an original album is one of my dreams. Basically, if the opportunity comes up in the future, I'll pursue it.

C: You shared the stage with The Black Mages tonight. Do you plan to collaborate with them on any projects down the road?

K: Hmm. Well usually these sorts of things come about when I'm invited to participate in them. So let's just say I'll be waiting for another invitation. (laughs)

C: Do you have a message for your fans overseas?

K: I don't know how many years it will take, but one day I will definitely write some music for my overseas audience, so please wait!

CocoeBiz Impressions: The entire crowd at the concert was captivated by Mr. Ito's wonderful and sensitive performance. Everyone was moved by the enormous world he unfurled from the source of a single piano. I'll have my eyes glued to Mr. Ito for his next project! The splendid music and performance brought forth by the memory in Mr. Ito's fingertips were an unmistakable testament to his talent.

His next project was announced to be Hanjuku Eiyuu 4, and he will no doubt continue to surprise his fans in the year 2005!
